Whether you own a point-and-shoot or a more advanced DSLR, this class will give you a better grasp of your chosen tool and the skills to make successful images. We will focus on core photographic concepts as well as some more advanced techniques. The course will include hands-on demonstrations with the camera as well as basic digital image editing techniques. We will discuss the work of great photographers alongside your own photographs in order to better understand the fundamentals of composition to create compelling imagery. Expect to leave the class with the Skills to make money with your craft and a working knowledge of your camera.
Supplies: A digital CAMERA is your top priority. It does not matter which kind, though full manual exposure controls are helpful, at the end of the day the best camera is the one you have. Having RAW capability is nice but not essential.
A TRIPOD is not essential but very helpful. There are many options out there. You get what you pay for but having any stabilizing device is much better than having none.
STORAGE MEDIA This means an external USB or hard drive or online storage like Google Drive. Storing your photos on your memory card is not wise for multiple reasons. Also, when we edit in Lightroom the files will be too large to email. Make sure you have a place to save your work every week, as this is a requirement.
Very helpful is access to a COMPUTER with Lightroom CS6 and Adobe Bridge.
